New to the Raleigh, North Carolina area, Dr. Rogers is a mind-body psychologist that uses an integrative approach to helping her clients. Her treatment plans are designed to address all aspects of client well-being. Her treatment approach incorporates wellness and stress management as well as cognitive behavioral forms of “talk therapy.” In addition to progressive guided visualization, hypnotherapy, meditation, and biofeedback, she has also studied EMDR, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Along with individual, couples, and family therapy, she conducts wellness groups using a workbook that she has written entitled, “The Artfully Lived Life: Creating a Masterpiece Within.”
Another approach to treatment that Dr. Rogers uses is vibroacoustics and binaural sound frequency-enhanced guided visualization. She has written, recorded, and mastered over 40 of these guided visualizations using a cognitive behavioral approach, to address some of the more common therapeutic issues such as phobias, anxiety, low self-esteem, and negative self talk. Her clients are able to take these exercises home and practice them between sessions. She has published the findings of her work in the peer-reviewed literature.
It is Dr. Rogers' philosophy that:
We have everything we need already within us to create a happy, healthy, and inspiring life!
Any program designed to create personal wellness must teach strategies for recognizing the symptoms of stress, and recognizing the physical, cognitive, and emotional symptoms of distress. These programs must also teach strategies to reduce or eliminate those symptoms and aid in living a joyful life!
The goal of any transformational program must be to teach not only how to survive, but how to thrive while discovering and manifesting your highest potential.
Dr. Rogers is the founder of the Sound for Healing Institute, Biobehavior Recovery Services, and Donna R.B. Rogers, Ph.D., Ltd. She is also one of the first psychologists to develop a program for treating the cognitive and emotional symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma, and many other disorders by using the newest research in guided visualization, vibroacoustic technology, and binaural sound frequencies. She has worked extensively with the founder of Biopulsonics, who developed the sound technology she uses in her work.
Research & Mentoring:
Dr. Rogers has mentored several pre-doctoral and post-doctoral students in her highly specialized meditation and guided visualization strategies, and has participated in graduate level research with her students on these issues. She has also published the findings of her work in well respected peer-reviewed professional journals. One of those studies can be found in Complementary Therapies in Clinical Practice, Volume 13, pgs. 95-101. This research has become the foundation of The Artfully Lived Life Wellness Program.
Dr. Rogers and her husband, Dr. Kim Rogers, who is a co-author of The Artfully Lived Life: Creating a Masterpiece Within workbook, are continuing to explore how these strategies might be helpful to couples, families, and those who are suffering from chronic pain. Please feel free to contact us if you are interested in more information regarding this research.
